Louisville challenges Nashville hotel to become America’s Best Restroom
Louisville, KY –21c Museum Hotel is challenging Nashville’s Hermitage Hotel in the quest to become America’s Best Restroom after reading some good-spirited jabs at 21c in yesterday’s edition of the Nashville Tennessean.
21c decided to challenge The Hermitage after Ron Gobbell, a Nashville architect with the Hermitage, said that no restroom “is quite as elegant as ours” with the writer adding that 21c’s restroom featured “weird stuff, like images of eyes moving back and forth.”
“21c Museum Hotel is known for its unique style and flair,” said the hotel’s owner, Steve Wilson. “And in this contest we won’t settle for being number two.”
21c’s restrooms feature one-way mirror facing urinals in the men’s rooms and LCD screens displaying videos of traveling eyes built into the mirror above the sink in the ladies room.
The Golden Plunger award will be created by 21c and will have the winning hotel’s name on it. The twist is that the award will be displayed for the next year in the losing hotel’s restroom.
Fans of the restrooms can go online to www.bestrestrooms.com and cast their votes for their favorite through July 31st. Cintas will announce the winner in early August.
