WHAT’S WITH THE YELLOW? “The War of The Roses”: How Flowers Became a Symbol of Women’s Right to Vote in Tennessee

In the early 1900s, the women’s suffrage movement sported yellow roses to show their support forwomen’s right to vote, while the anti-suffragists donned red roses to show their opposition to the movement. In honor of our role in suffrage history, look for the color yellow hidden in plain sight throughout The Hermitage Hotel.
